I recall when I was young, my mother had quite the collection of various night lights, all theme based of course. Year after year, she would go through her routine of pulling out new lights for each changing season. For some reason, even being a younger child, I enjoyed seeing the various seasonal lights coming out to play again. Even though I had seen the night lights numerous times before, I hadn’t seen them for nearly a year, thus kind of making them new again. I guess it was destiny that I would one day run a company that focused on switchable night lights.

We started our business focused more on custom night lights that we made from our customer’s own pictures. That was fine, but when we decided to start hitting a few craft shows, custom night lights were difficult to sell since we couldn’t actually give them to the customers there and then. We had to come up with some “predesigned night lights” that we could give the customers on the spot. This is where Rose played a huge role. She had attended art school for photography so she had a nice background that would work in our favor, plus a nice supply of pictures to use.

It didn’t take long at all to realize that once we sold a light, there was a great opportunity to give customers even more choice in what they purchased. Why not allow the customers to buy one light, and then give them the ability to purchase different pictures that they could change out from season to season? Thus was the birth of the switchable night light…and it was a hit. Customers loved the idea of being able to choose from our selection of inserts. Thank you, mom, for giving us a great concept of having different night lights for the various seasons, holidays and events. I’m glad that we were able to accomplished the same thing with only one light though.

Over time, we’ve come up with an amazingly huge selection of inserts to choose from. Unfortunately, that in itself creates a problem since now there are nearly 4,000 images to choose from. To make things easier, we’ve set up a good number of Categories which will narrow your search results. We have Categories like Christmas, Halloween, Landscapes, Ethnic Art, Religious, Patriotic and basically every holiday.

With all that said, it’s important to still point out that our custom night lights are still extremely important to us, and more importantly, still very popular with our customers. We receive a lot of requests for custom pet night lights. Yes, our beloved dogs and cats are still at the top of your lists when it comes to our custom night light orders. It’s important to note that not only are our predesigned inserts switchable, but our custom inserts as well. Already have a custom night light but want to change the insert for the holidays? No problem. Every light we sell is switchable with our other images. The only thing to pay close attention to is that if you own a night light with a landscape orientation, don’t replace the image with a portrait orientation. Just stay consistent with the direction of your light with all your pictures.

As long as we’re on the night light topic, it’s important to also point out that the inserts are not the only things that are switchable. All our lights come with two light bulb options. They come standard with a 4-watt incandescent night light bulb, but you can also upgrade to a 6 LED bulb. While the incandescent bulb will give you a softer look, the soft white LED bulbs are brighter, have no heat, are extremely energy efficient and have a very long useful life. Both of these bulb options are available for all our switchable night lights.
